In this post, I share everything I’ve purchased and collected as far as a home birth kit and supplies for the upcoming birth of our second baby.
I am closing in on this pregnancy with baby #2 (almost to 37 weeks!) so I officially have everything collected & prepared for our upcoming home birth. I had my daughter Hayden at a birth center (check out her positive birth story here!) so this prep this time around has been something totally new and different! I have so enjoyed getting everything ready for my birthing time and we are just so so excited to welcome this sweet baby girl into the world.
Something I didn’t know when it comes to home birth supplies + prep is that my midwife (along with most homebirth midwives, I’m pretty sure!) has her own custom birth kit. I found hers on this site, and it contains most of the single use, more medical type stuff she will need. She also brings a ton of supplies with her, but I was responsible for providing the items in the kit. This made the process of collecting everything I needed so much easier!
Outside of her birth kit, I also gathered some other supplies to have on hand as well, such as towels, postpartum supplies, comfort items for during labor, etc. Check out the video below for a rundown of everything I prepped! I will also include links to all of the items as well.
